Dear Black Queens

Dear Black Queens..

I want to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of you for the remarkable individuals you are. Your strength and resilience you embody help make this world a better place. You are brave, resourceful, and powerful beyond measure. In a world that often seeks to diminish our worth and silence our voices, we stand tall in the face of adversity. We are the descendants of warriors, cultivators, and the inheritors of a legacy forged in struggle and triumph. From Harriet Tubman to Maya Angelou and countless other influential black queens throughout history, we stand on the shoulders of giants who have paved the way for US.

Even in the darkest times, we have the power to rise and soar beyond the confines of our circumstances and embrace our own greatness.  Rosa Parks reminded us that sometimes the greatest acts of resistance come from simply refusing to back down. By taking a stand, or rather a seat, on that day in Montgomery she sparked a movement that would change the course of history forever. But it’s not just the famous trailblazers who should inspire you; you are surrounded by fellow black queens that forged their own path, overcame obstacles, and continue to leave their mark on the world. These women are connected with you on LinkedIn, follow you on social media, in your family, and are in your friend groups. No matter what your occupations is, your contributions matter. Your dreams matter. Your voice matters.

There will be those who try to tear you down, call you out of your name, seek to diminish your worth, and silence your voice. But remember this: you are NOT defined by the limitations others place on you. We as black queens are defined by our determination and unwavering belief in our own power to create change. Take a stand, speak out, and refuse to be silent. Sometimes we have to pull up a chair to the table instead of waiting for an invite. Always remember to stand tall and keep your head high knowing that your crown is too magnificent to ever fall.

To my sisters, my Black Queens, and fellow warriors; stand tall, stand proud, and never forget the power that lies within you. You are capable of greatness beyond your wildest dreams. If we stand together and continue to uplift each other, we will shine bright illuminating the path of generations to come. I have love for you and an unshakeable belief in your limitless power.

Sincerely,

Britt, a fellow BLACK QUEEN
