About Zach "Black" Williams
Introducing Zach Williams.
Every recruiting class has a handful of athletes who separate themselves early. They aren’t just talented, they’re different. Their combination of athletic ability, football IQ, and work ethic makes them impossible to ignore.
For Allen High School wide receiver Zach “Black” Williams, that moment has already arrived.
While most freshmen spend their first varsity season adjusting to the speed of the game, Williams was rewriting record books. Now entering his sophomore season, he’s already established himself as one of the top young wide receivers in Texas. He is one of the most exciting prospects in the 2029 recruiting class.
Zach Williams: A Freshman Season to Remember
Williams didn’t simply contribute during his freshman year, he dominated.
He finished the season with 69 receptions, 1,146 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns, setting Allen High School’s single-season receiving record. His breakout campaign earned him MaxPreps Freshman All-American and Rivals Freshman All-American honors, cementing his status as one of the nation’s premier underclassmen.
It’s rare for a freshman to become the focal point of an offense. But it’s even rarer to do it at one of Texas’ most recognizable football programs.
Built Through Elite Training
Williams trains with Margin Hooks of Sky’s The Limit WR Academy, one of the most respected wide receiver trainers in the country. Hooks has helped develop 28 High School All-Americans, six five-star wide receivers, 11 college All-Americans, six NFL players, and a Pro Bowler.
That kind of mentorship is invaluable.
Working alongside elite athletes and learning from one of the best receiver coaches in football has accelerated Williams’ growth, refining every aspect of his game, from route running and footwork to body control and football IQ. At just 14 years old, he’s already developing habits that translate to the next level.
More Than 30 College Offers at 15
One of the clearest indicators of Williams’ potential is the attention he’s receiving from college programs.
Before beginning his sophomore season, he had already accumulated more than 30 Division I scholarship offers, an impressive milestone for someone still so early in his high school career.
Recruiters aren’t simply evaluating what Zach Williams has already accomplished. They are investing in what they believe he can become over the next several years, and the interest from major programs reflects just how high that ceiling is.
Why Zach Williams Is Part of The Next Wave
The Next Wave was created to highlight athletes before they become household names.
It’s about documenting the journey before the headlines, celebrating the work before the rankings, and introducing fans to the next generation of stars while their stories are still unfolding. Zach Williams embodies everything this project stands for.
Elite production, coaching, and elite potential. Williams has all the tools to become one of the next great wide receivers to come out of Texas.
The football world is paying attention. And if his trajectory continues, it won’t be long before everyone else is too.
