exploring las vegas

Welcome to Las Vegas. This is the city where the lights never dim and you seem to lose track of time. Exploring Las Vegas may seem overwhelming if you’re a first-time visitor. And I get it. Vegas is known for its larger-than-life attractions, world-class entertainment, and a vibe that’s both electric and indulgent. It is a playground for anyone looking to escape the ordinary. Vegas always has something up its sleeve. Whenever I think of Las Vegas, the movie Flintstones Viva Las Vegas pops up in my head. That’s how I imagined it would be when I got older.

The best part about this city is there so much to do! It can probably seem overwhelming and you’re probably wondering where do you even start? I don’t want exploring Las Vegas to be overwhelming for you. I’ve got you covered with the top 10 things to do in Sin City that’ll make your trip memorable. There’s a whole world beyond the slot machines.

Exploring Las Vegas: Top 10 Things to Do in the City

Stroll Down Las Vegas Strip

Let’s start with the obvious: The Strip. Even if you’re not here to empty your wallet at the casino, The Strip is poppin! Walking down this iconic stretch feels like stepping into a different world. Every casino has its own vibe. Plus, you can take pictures by the Paris hotel and say you’ve been to Paris. Who would know the difference?? One thing I would highly recommend is wearing comfy shoes. The Strip may look short, but your feet will tell you otherwise.

Catch A Show or 3

Vegas is where the world’s top entertainers come to play and the variety of shows is off the charts. You’ve got Cirque du Soleil for when you want to see humans do things that make you question how the body bends like that. If you’re into music, there’s a good chance your favorite artist has a residency here. The current artists that have residency are Adele, Mariah Carey, Carrie Underwood, Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, Bruno Mars, Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, and Wu-Tang Clan. And then there are magic shows, comedy acts, and everything in between. Trust me, there’s no shortage of “wow” moments. Shows I’ve seen are MJ Live, Mad Apple, WOW, Jabbowokees, Chris Angel, The AWakening, Tournament of Kings,

The Bellagio Fountains and Botanical Gardens

The Bellagio has a beautiful area that is dedicated to the Botanical Garden. Every season, they use real flowers to create a breathtaking presentation made of flowers. The exhibit changes every season so be sure to get some pics! Once you’re done there, head outside to see the dancing fountains that are synced to music. The best part? It’s totally free. So grab a spot, maybe a drink, and soak in one of the most iconic (and Instagrammable) sights in Vegas.

Fremont Street Downtown Las Vegas

So for a few years now, Vegas has been closing the gap between the strip and downtown. Fremont Street is one of the top attractions everyone goes to. Its where Vegas gets a little grittier and a lot more fun. Under the massive LED canopy, you’ll find street performers, live music, and a vibe that screams old-school Vegas with a twist of modern madness. Don’t miss the SlotZilla zip line that lets you soar above the crowd.

Neon Museum

Las Vegas is known for its lights, so it’s only fitting that the city has a museum dedicated to neon signs. The Neon Museum, aka the “Boneyard,” is where old Vegas signs go to retire. Take a guided tour, especially at night when the signs light up, and get a crash course in Vegas history. Plus, it’s the perfect place for some artsy photos.

Go for an adventure at Circus Circus

Circus Circus in Las Vegas is a nostalgic trip back to the classic Vegas vibe, but with a fun twist that’s perfect for families and thrill-seekers. Imagine a hotel and casino that feels like stepping into a carnival—complete with the world’s largest permanent circus, free daily performances, and an indoor amusement park packed with adrenaline-pumping rides. The Midway is a hotspot for retro arcade vibes, while the Adventuredome offers roller coasters and attractions that keep the excitement going. Circus Circus offers endless entertainment making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the lighter side of Sin City.

Visit Area 15

Area 15 in Las Vegas is where your wildest imaginations come to life! It’s like stepping into a futuristic playground designed for the bold and curious. Picture this: mind-bending art installations, arcades, immersive VR experiences that transport you to another dimension, and a vibe that’s both funky and futuristic. Area 15 is the ultimate spot for all ages. There is the really popular attraction called Mega-Mart. On the outside it looks like a convenient store for you to by snacks and drinks, but on the inside it is mind blowing. Trust me, you won’t find anything like it on the Strip—this is where the future of fun is happening!

Sightsee on the High Roller

Vegas does things big, and the High Roller is no exception. This isn’t your typical Ferris wheel—it’s the world’s tallest observation wheel, and the views are incredible. You can even book a cabin with an open bar if you want to sip while you spin. The High Roller is located in the LINQ Promenade. This is an entire alleyway full of bars, restaurants, exhibits, and other fun attractions.

Pro tip: Go at night to see the city lights shine bright.
